澳大利亚战争纪念馆更新Ben Roberts-Smith纪念展以反映前士兵被控战争罪

澳大利亚战争纪念馆近日对Ben Roberts-Smith的纪念展进行了修改，这是因为在2019年4月他因涉嫌五项谋杀战犯行为而正式遭到起诉。

此次更新发生在周五，纪念馆内荣誉厅近一半描述性的铭牌内容已经转变为了讲述他在服役后的事件。这些事件从2016年的初期不良行为报告开始。

在以前的展示中，该纪念展结束了时点为Roberts-Smith并未因任何犯罪活动受到指控。

In April 2023, Roberts-Smith was charged with five counts of the war crime of murder. The legal process is ongoing.

在周五的新闻发布会上，澳大利亚战争纪念馆馆长Matt Anderson表示，博物馆致力于确保公众了解情况的同时，也坚持无罪推定的原则。

The memorial』s commitment throughout this entire process … has been to ensure that the panel in the galleries is up to date and covers the facts,

Anderson先生说道：「考虑到所施下的重大指控，目前最重要的是让我们所有人都等待正义的进程。」

「我今天以及在澳大利亚战争纪念馆任何阶段所做的任何发言或行动都不会影响公正审判的机会。」

Anderson先生还指出Roberts-Smith的装备、制服及勋章组将继续展出。
